For me, Honesty really counts. Honesty is Purity. Honesty leads to Trust. ....
There are 5 challenges: Telling the truth, Return recovered things( personal items, money, etc.), Admit mistake, Return excess change, Avoid cheating.
Of the 5 challenges, i have chosen "Return excess change".
I was able to do the challenge.
I always encounter this matter when i commute and ride a jeepney especially when the driver is an old man. and also when i ride a pedicab in our village. What happened was when i gave 20 pesos to the pedicab driver and he gave me a change of coins amounting to 23 pesos. he didn't knew about that until i caught his attention. He apologized about it...
I felt very happy because i have made an act of honesty even in that simple experiennce...
I felt a sense of relief on what i have done. At first i admit that i was tempted not to return it but when i saw him very tired of driving, i realized that is it fair not to return it as far as he is concerned??
From the expereince, i realized that an act of honesty really gives you an inner peace. I realized that other people will be affected just because you lied. And returning an excess change is an easy act. before you make an act of dishonesty, ask yourself first, "Is it the truth?", "Will it be fair to those who will be concerned?"....
